I've been blogging about more sport cars lately, so I decided to do something a little different. Here's Jeep!
Jeep is a mainly off-roading car brand. Jeep started up in 1943 but made their first production car in 1945. Before 1940 when Jeep started, the term "Jeep" was Army slang for new vehicles or recruits. The term then became specifically tied to the lightweight, 4x4 army vehicle. They were probably the oldest mass production cars that had 4 wheel drive, which are now known as SUV's. Jeep was owed by American Motors Cooperation, or AMC, but is now owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. At least two Jeep models, the Wagoneer and the CJ-5, have had most impressive runs of three decade production runs of the same body generation. Jeeps current models are the Wrangler (in the picture above), the Grand Cherokee, the just plain old Cherokee, the Compass, the Renegade, and then the new model coming in Spring of 2019, the Gladiator.
